5 Ways To Celebrate St. Patrick’s in Tyler, TX

February 23rd, 2023 by

It’s almost time to pull out your best green-themed outfit, grab some friends, and attend fun events around St. Patrick’s Day. This year, the holiday is on Friday, March 17, which means you can take the weekend to celebrate at various places. Many events have delicious Irish cuisines, festive live performances, enjoyable activities, and Irish-inspired beverages. Our team at Classic Toyota wants to help you celebrate the holiday, so we compiled a list of five ways to celebrate St. Paddy’s in Tyler, Texas.

Go to the Local Irish Pub, ETX Brewing Company

Since 2016, the family-owned pub ETX Brewing Company has been operating and serving its local community. The pub continues its annual St. Patrick’s Day tradition with live music. This year’s exciting musical feature is the band The Haggerty’s, a local alternative rock band. Bring your loved ones for a good meal, great drinks, and even greater time spent together celebrating the holiday with fun live music.

While you’re listening to the great live music, consider ordering some of these mouth-watering meals:

  • Nashville hot sandwich.
  • Mac ‘n’ cheese fries.
  • Patty melt burger.
  • Beer brined wings.

Then, pair your meal with a delicious beer from the core menu, such as:

  • Park Ranger, which has orange and tangerine flavors and dry hops.
  • 1846 IPA, an American-style beverage with bottom-range bitterness, dry hops, and bold, fruity El Dorado hops.
  • Brickstreet Blonde, a crisp American blonde ale with light hops and mild maltiness.
  • ETX Premium Lager has a dry finish and a light body crisp with a slight aroma of white grapes.

The brewing company doesn’t require reservations or tickets. A spot inside the pub is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Date and time: Saturday, March 18, from 8 to 10 p.m.
  • Address: 221 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler.

Have a Cuppa at the St. Patrick’s Day Tea Tasting

Take a 30-minute drive to Gladewater, Texas, to celebrate St. Paddy’s day a little differently than some. Three Roots Boutique is an herb shop in this city, and it’s hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Tea Tasting. Each tasting lasts an hour, and you can sample three types of teas with various snacks. For your three samples, you can select from over 60 loose-leaf teas in the herb shop’s collection. You and your friends can experience the tea in a relaxing atmosphere, where you can sit among cozy couches or pretty patio seating.

The boutique requires reservations for this event, and you must pay the tasting fee within 48 hours of securing your spot. You can use Three Roots Boutique’s website to book and pay for your tasting.

  • Date and time: Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Address: 108 S. Main St., Gladewater.

Join the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl & Block Party

If you’re looking for more community events and parades to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day, take a drive to Dallas, which is about a 1 1/2-hour drive. The Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl & Block Party begins at Dot’s Hop House. This event lasts for 11 hours. During the crawl, you can roam among 10 venues and drink discounted beverages. When you arrive, you get a pub crawl packet, which comprises a map of participating bars, drink coupons, and free shot vouchers.

Be sure to wear your favorite green clothes and accessories. Purchase your tickets online using the event’s website. Prices can vary depending on when you buy them.

  • Date and time: Friday, March 17, from 3 p.m. until Saturday, March 18, at 2 a.m.

Attend the Dallas Luck Of The Irish St Patrick’s Day Weekend Bar Crawl

Celebrate the Irish holiday a week before at the Dallas Luck Of The Irish St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Bar Crawl. The crawl starts at Deep Ellum Brewing Company Taproom and lasts about seven hours. You can wander in and out of various participating bars and pubs. This event differs from the previous one because it includes a social media costume contest where the winner gets a cash prize. To enter the contest, tag the event in a photo or video post of you wearing your most spirited look for St. Paddy’s Day.

Additionally, at the event, you get a wristband, free entry to the bars, a digital crawl map, and exclusive drink specials. Use the event’s website to purchase your tickets for the crawl.

Participate in the 42nd Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival

If you love watching parades, consider participating in the 42nd Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival. This parade is a classic Dallas tradition that began in 1979, featuring just a few vehicles. Today, this event is one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the Southwest. Usually, there are over 90 floats, 1,700 participants, and 125,000 spectators. The parade begins at 11 a.m. at the local Half Price Books shop this year.
